ARS Technica reports that spam will overtake non-spam or “real” email this year. This is bad news. How about that for in depth analysis!
Ok why is it bad news? Not so much because we’ll all be getting more spam. The real issue is Read more >>
Normally I would be posting a number of links today, but I thought it was important to post this one by itself. WEP wireless encryption was cracked in less than two minutes this week. To find out what that means for your church or ministry read on.
Mashups are all the rage now days. If you aren’t a link follower, a mashup is the combining of two web applications to make a third one. I think they also give us a window on human behavior.
UIE on Usability and User Experience: Great blurb on who a useable website doesn’t equal user experience. I actually had a very similar experience to the one described here. It has soured me from using the store-pick-up for a particular big-box electronics store that rhymes with Vest Pie.
WaSP Street Teams: I am fan of web standards, so I’m this appealed to me. Of course anything called a Street Team with graffiti like font has to be cool. If you’re not sure what web standards are, then check out the web standards project.
Hugh MacLeod on The Conversation (via Seth Godin): I’m a fan of The Cluetrain. It is a bit out there, but I think that is a good thing. I think in the ministry space the web as conversation is especially true.

IMified is a new service that launched earlier this month. It has the easiest signup process ever, just send an IM. Once you’ve done that you have an account and what can you do with that account? Right out of the box you can setup reminders, to-do’s and notes. All of this is done via IM with IMified prompting you for information.
However, the real power of this tool is when you mash it up with services that have Open APIs. I linked my IMified account with the Silas Partners Basecamp account, now I can create To-Do’s and messages right from IM without even logging in.
IMified links up with a number of services include Google Calendar, Wordpress, Blogger and Salesforce. The sky’s the limit with open APIs, so I’m hopeful that this service will only be getting more helpful.
