CCO + Cool = CCOol!

Posted by Rhea on July 13, 2007

Okay, so I couldn’t think of a “pun-nier” title for this piece, but that’s not the point. I got “CCO” in the title, which is good enough for SEO.

Coalition for Christian Outreach (CCO) has the unique endeavor of helping churches, colleges, and other academic organizations. They do this by providing well equipped staff (they raise their own salary!) to work with college students in the mid-atlantic region. CCO does “contextualized ministry” where they come in, find where the need is, and help fill that need of a partner institution.

Watch a nice short flash movie that explains what they do>>

or check out the site we built for the CCO.

They do a lot of their work behind the scenes. Did you meet a campus worker who cared for you, a poor, sleep-deprived college student back in the day? Then maybe you already met a CCO staffworker. These staffworkers are indeed cool people and they enjoy being part of the CCO Staff! They got voted “Best Christian Workplace” five years in a row.

One of my favorite aspects of the project is the number of looks/microsites we were able to build using the same branding elements. For example, check out their:

* Outdoor Leadership Team Site
* OC Beach Project Site
* Work for Us Site

They’re also working on a Campus Ministry Resources site that’s soon to relaunch and it will contain helpful tools for all you folks who do campus ministry.

Another small piece of trivia about the site - we used photos of *actual* staff members and students. They’re a good looking bunch. There’s one or two photos that are stock, but I don’t think you’ll be able to guess which ones.

  1. Another CCOol thing about the ministry is the custom print cards (illustrated by a CCO staff member) you can order from the site: http://cards.ccojubilee.org/

  4. BTW - Thanks Michael for the reference to the cards! :) If you buy a card from their store, 100% of the proceeds go to ministry work.
