Google Earth adds charities

Posted by Jacob on June 26, 2007

Google Earth is a free piece of software that allows you to browse the globe from your desktop. Recently, Google was in the news for adding information on what  is happening in Darfur to Google Earth.

Today they went a step further and announced Google Earth Outreach. I first read about this on Search Engine Watch. You can get the skinny from Google as well.

This is another technology ministries and churches could be taking advantage of. International relief organizations could put their programs on the map, allowing users a whole new way to interact with the information. Not to mention nothing better illustrates the global reach of a ministry than a globe!
