Improving Wordpress along side Spress

You won’t see Joe Tan on this blog much, he’s not that kind of guy. However he is always working to make Wordpress better and therfore Spress better.

Joe recent released a (really) simple spam filter. This isn’t a replacement for the Akismet spam filter we use on many blogs, it is a great way to filter out the really obvious spam so your Akismet queue isn’t 4,000 messages.

Think of it this way, Joe’s plugin does the easy work of trapping the most obvious spam so Akismet only has to work on the not so obvious. What it means to you: more time writing and less time managing comments.

Turns out Derek Punsalan thinks Joe’s plugin is an ideal way to manage, reduce, and prevent comment spam on Wordpress. Derek’s post was Dugg and lots of people will get exposed to something we have known for a long time at Silas Partners, Joe is really good at what he does.
