Candy has its perks
So my coworkers are probably groaning that I am yet again bringing up this website . However, I tell you that it holds minutes if not hours of amusement, especially if you don’t read Japanese.
Since Michael has been asking for illustrations on the web, I bring you www.puccho.jp. To convince you that it is not just the funny characters like the Yogurt King (seen sleeping below) that made me click around the site, I will list a few items of note here.

1. The site matches their product. (Yes, a few of us have actually eaten the candy that they sell . That’s how we found out about the site.) I would say it has consistent branding. ![]()
2. They use flash heavily, but it doesn’t take forever to load. The site is NOT built entirely out of flash, which I personally approve of.
3. The site is either intuitive, or is somehow using standards (i was able to find the “skip intro” button when the intro flash page comes up, figure out what the top navigation means by looking at the graphics, and find the “play movie” button).
3. Finally, it makes me wish I can understand Japanese! Just imagine, a short movie about the different characters are produced on a regular basis! It’s the storybook that just keeps on going !
Anyway, my hope is that someday I get to work on a fun site like this. Anybody up for kids’ sites?
(P.S. We’re launching a kids’ site soon…but you’ll just have to wait and see.)
