Silas Notes

Seven people, 8 bags, 7 laptops, two flights, 3 boxes, 2 colds.

The morning prior to our departure from the Silas Partners office wasn’t the flurry of activity I was told it had been in the past. Only one minor setback; the invitations for the Silas/Trinet Merger Meet and Greet that were to be printed on business cardstock gave the printer some problems. But, that was nothing Katy couldn’t fix with a screwdriver and some patience. I never new a printer could be such a complex piece of machinery with so many teeny tiny springs – it’s like a huge watch that makes color copies.

Both of our flights went very smoothly and security at the airport wasn’t a long process. I had to have my air-cast (from an ankle injury) swabbed. I guess if someone could make a bomb out of a shoe, then a Robocop-looking air-cast would definitely raise a few eyebrows for its nuclear capabilities.

Passing through ATL with a short layover allowed Fedor to take some pictures with Silas Man and give her time for a Caribou coffee fix. (I really don’t’ care much for that coffee, Starbucks for me please.)

We arrive in Orlando after hour and a half drive with Duncan at the wheel and Katharine as co-pilot and keeper of maps. (Katharine rules!) From what I have heard in the past, with Duncan driving I thought we would make it in – like – 20 minutes or something, but the drive was very nice and we got to get to know each other better. It made me remember why I wanted to come to Silas Partners in the first place. A great team that shares a passion to do great work and get places fast.

  1. Hey! I’m all about Starbucks for “iced” drinks and “lattes” my friend! You should know, I practially live there.
BUT — a Mint Condition — it’s yummy in my tummy! and that doesn’t happen too often - ya know!
