Confessions of a Non-Techie - Part 5
Welcome back to the final chapter!
So, why do I work with a company that both uses technology and helps others to use it too? Because we do it well. Technology serves a fantastic purpose when pointed in the right direction. I love our work and our client’s work because ultimately it’s doing God’s work. Scripture teaches us to be good stewards – and I think that applies to all aspects of life. I believe we, and the clients we serve, are being good stewards of technology by using it in a way that will help others. Check out more about our work!
There is always a lot of joy and excitement (and relief) throughout the office when a new site launches, both as a celebration of hard work done, and anticipation to see how the new site will help the customer in their ministry. I don’t really think any of us would work here if we didn’t have some joy in seeing the good works of others; and to me, being able to help others - at least in some way - is very fulfilling.
You might be thinking that with the collective technical savviness of the company we would be horrible communicators – but we’re far from it. We make in-person visits to many of our clients, and they come to visit us too. The personal touch is very important to us, and is present in all aspects of our company.
I can think of numerous examples of how technology is being used for good here and amongst our clients, but allow me to “toot the Silas horn” for just a moment. This Christmas, Silas Partners had a very special online Christmas card coloring page. When the viewer had finished coloring, they could then choose from a list of charities to which Silas Partners would donate $2. We managed to raise a nice little bit of money and helped spread the spirit of the Christmas season. It is exciting and challenging to find creative ways to use technology responsibly, but we love being stewards of that.
On the client side the list is endless, so let’s look at one of our newest launches, the Christian Management Association (CMA). CMA is a fantastic resource of management information online. They sort through different books, seminars, and other available content and keep a library of articles that allow readers to learn good techniques while staying focused on their mission. CMA also provides additional downloadable resources and recommended books and links. Check out their new site to learn more, and don’t forget the Conference tab!
Well friends, I think that’s it… Make sure you keep visiting Silas Notes where I’m sure you will see articles by our Team about future work of our clients and Silas Partners. Do you have any final thoughts or opinions? Thanks for sticking around with me!
Here ends the confessions of a non-techie.
